BT Lab Systems UV Light Transilluminators have innovative special black glass that blocks all visible light and allows only UV light to pass through. This helps reduce background illumination from visible light (Figure 1). The use of the special glass makes the UV transilluminators appear as if it is not working when turned on as researchers are expecting to see the purple glow typically associated with older models.
